" Initially my husband and I didn't love the idea of having a stranger come into our home and care for us at such an vulnerable time in our lives. Once we contacted Mothers Empowering Mothers and set up our meet n greet with our postpartum doula it suddenly felt right. She came to see us twice a week for 4 hours at a time. She didn't need any direction from me, and always made sure I had food, water, tea and was comfortable. She kept my toddler busy, cut up veggies and fruit so they were easily accessible to my toddler and myself. She cleaned and did laundry, would wake me up from a nap when my newborn needed to nurse. She also got us in touch with their lactation support when we were struggling in the beginning. She checked on my mental health periodically throughout our visits. I wish I would have known about these services with my first. Especially after struggling for 2 years with what I now know to be postpartum depression. These services are invaluable! We were able to afford postpartum support for 3 months because of their sliding scale applications. Thank you a hundred times over for the support! I highly recommend Mothers Empowering Mothers to all moms!"
